[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Showing You How to Have a Great Day Surf Fishing”][vc_column_text]Today trip involved a short drive from Orlando to south Cocoa Beach near Patrick Air Force Base area. The first stop was at the local bait shop to pick up Pompano rigs, size 1 circle hooks, 3oz pyramid weights, and frozen clam for bait. The bite has been best from sunrise to 2 in the afternoon.

First cast and we immediately got into the Pompano. They are one my favorite fish to catch as they put up a great fight and they also taste great. We were cutting up the clam into 2 inch pieces and casting them out as far as we could, letting them sit until we got a bite. What makes this area of Cocoa Beach a great fishing spot is the rocks all along the beach. They provide structure and bait for larger predator fish such as Snook, Red Fish, Pompano, Sharks and many other species.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Later on in the day, we caught some Black Margate. The Pompano bite slowed down around 1 o’clock. These are another fun fish to catch that can put up a fun fight.
